Drawing a Blank
…because it was mentioned on an older episode of QI and I was curious to see what other words rhyme with it. Most of the words that those “did you know” sites claim don’t have rhymes actually do, the words just tend to be rather archaic.
So it’s true, there are only a handful of words that rhyme with purple - my favorite being ‘hurple’, which my spellcheck won’t even acknowledge, but it’s a Scottish word for a hobble or limp.
This one had me a little concerned, though:
Murple: A small, pale brown, thick wooled, Andean flightless goat.
…………….. flightless?
I checked a couple of places to verify that it wasn’t just that site describing it as such.
What the hell kind of goats are they breeding in South America that it’s actually necessary to include ‘flightless’ in the description? Because I want a goddamn pegasus-goat!

Well, the Andes are kind of steep in places, being a pegasus-goat would be an advantage.
